The award-winning proposal (1st Prize) in Greek Competition of HPPC (Hellenic Public Properties Co) in 2021, is about the historical Hotel “Xenia” in Edessa. The project was completed in collaboration with Lead Architect Apostolos Linos Apostolopoulos from “Prothesis Office | Architecture and Civil Engineering firm” (https://prothesis.eu). It was built in 1963, designed by the Greek architect Iasonas Rizos, and the extensions took place in 1998. The abandoned hotel is located in the heart of the city of Edessa, in northern Greece and it has a built area of 4135m2 and more than 40 rooms (74 beds).
In 2021, it was appointed by the client to develop a complete proposal for the Hotel “Xenia”. The new proposal that our office prepared, aims to fully restore the hotel both on a structural and architectural level, as well as integrate the landscape and respond to the demands of contemporary holiday living.
